Daftar Tembang Barat 80-an Wilayah Power-pop

Banyak yang beranggapan, jika menyinggung wilayak musik 'power-pop' lebih mengena ke masa lampau era sebelum tahun 80-an. Dan itu lebih sering diperbincangkan dengan menghubungkannya kepad band-band lawas seperti The Who, The Byrds atau The Beach Boys,hingga periode 70-an dengan kemasan seperti Cheap Trick atau Badfinger. Jika bicara 80-an, wilayah musik ini seperti kalah populer dibandingkan 'synth-pop' yang saat itu sedang naik daun. Saya masih ingat, hanya segelintir nama-nama 'band' yang saya kenal dulu seperti Squeeze, The Cars, The Hooters, The J. Geils Band, dan ke-empat nama-nama tersebut adalah yang paling sering terlihat terpajang di toko-toko kaset dulunya di awal-awal 80-an. Dan jujur saja pertama kali mendengar 'mereka' dulu, saya seperti kurang sreg, didalam hati bertanya : "mengapa bandnya adalah masa sekarang tapi musiknya jadul...?" Atau mungkin saya dulunya memang remaja yang sedang-sedangnya dicekokin oleh band-band new-wave synth-pop sedang merajai. Tapi tidak sepenuhnya total seperti itu, dipertengahan 80-an, tiba-tiba The outfield beredar dipasaran, lagu-lagu balad power-popnya seperti : Your Love, Talk to Me cepat sekali akrab ditelinga. Berikut dibawah adalah daftar lagu-lagu 80-an selera pribadi yang saya interpretasikan kedalam wilayah pop-rock.
